Coffee Cheese Oreo Cake

Yummy, Yummy..... fingers licking...

My boys love cheese and anything to do with cheese. Thus, gave my fingers chances to play flour with the cheese to make out different buns, biscuits and cakes. Here is my self creation of a Coffee Cheese Oreo cake which I made especially for Father’s Day. Cheese cake is always a proven crowd pleaser. Though very time consuming to prepare, its end result should be very rewarding when you go to compare with a commercial made. If you are learning to make this cheese cake from scratch, then continue to read and learn from my own designed recipe.

Ingredients

500 grams of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
200 grams of granulated white sugar
5 large size eggs
120 grams of heavy whipping cream
500 grams of Wheat Veggie biscuits
3 Tbspoon of coffee powder
Parchment paper

For decorating:
I packet of Oreo biscuits
250 grams heavy whipping cream

Steps

1. Use 9” (23cm) cheesecake pan to measure parchment paper for covering the bottom
and the sides. 2. Crush the wheat veggie biscuits using the food processor.
3. Add the whipping cream and coffee powder to mix well. Then pour the mixture
into the cheese cake pan and press hard to make the base.

4. Cut the softened cream cheese into approximately 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) slices.
5. Put the cheese and the sugar into a mixer, and beat until creamy.
6. Add in the eggs one at a time and mix until the yolk is no longer visible
7. Pour the cheese filling from the mixer over the base.

8. Steam bath the mixture at 150* C for 2 hours.
9. When done, take out the cake and cool for an hour.
10. Then refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours.

board.

expand in size ,thick and fluffy for approximately 5 mins.

spatula.

More on Cancer

Why you should listen to him:
Quotes from William Li
.Many of society’s most devastating diseases -- cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and Alzheimer’s, to name a few -- share a common denominator: faulty angiogenesis, the body’s growth of new capillary blood vessels. Given excessive or insufficient blood vessel growth, serious health issues arise. While researching under Harvard surgeon Judah Folkman, who pioneered the study of angiogenesis, Li learned how angiogenesis-based medicine helps patients overcome numerous diseases by restoring the balance of blood-vessel growth.

Li co-founded the Angiogenesis Foundation in 1994. The foundation’s Project ENABLE -- a global system that integrates patients, medical experts and healthcare professionals -- democratizes the spread and implementation of knowledge about angiogenesis-based medicines, diet and lifestyle. Some 40,000 physicians have been educated on new treatments, ranging from cancer care to wound care, by the foundation’s faculty of medical experts, and they are bringing new, lifesaving and disease-preventing techniques to people around the world.
"Imagine that one medical advancement held the promise to conquer cancer, perhaps within your lifetime … the potential to also end more than 70 of life's most threatening conditions, affecting one billion people worldwide. This is the promise of angiogenesis, the first medical revolution of the 21st century."

Mammography v Thermography

You may look up the following topics too yourself:

1. Breast Thermography Click here to read : http://www.iact-org.org/patients/breastthermography/what-is-breast-therm.html

2. Mammography / Thermography Click to the captioned link above to read.

Following is quoted from my good friend who send me from China thus reminded me of my several Mammography done in KL and Kuching for general health checking which I am of high risk if not taken care off.

Quote:

Mammograms vs Thermography

Dear Ladies,

The option for breast screening that I most highly recommend is called thermography.

Thermographic breast screening is brilliantly simple. It measures the radiation of infrared heat from your body and translates this information into anatomical images. Your normal blood circulation is under the control of your autonomic nervous system, which governs your body functions.

Thermography uses no mechanical pressure or ionizing radiation, and can detect signs of breast cancer years earlier than either mammography or a physical exam.

Mammography cannot detect a tumor until after it has been growing for years and reaches a certain size.

Thermography is able to detect the possibility of breast cancer much earlier, because it can image the early stages of angiogenesis (the formation of a direct supply of blood to cancer cells, which is a necessary step before they can grow into tumors of size).

Is it any wonder that nowadays more and more women globally are having Breast Cancer.

The coincidence is, more and more organisations, doctors and government hospitals are pushing women to go for mammograms..

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE CONSEQUENCES.

Mammograms - ladies, please note it for health reasons and send them to other ladies that you know and

gentlemen, please disseminate this email to all the ladies in your lives

Well for starters mammograms expose your body to radiation that can be 1,000 times greater than that from a chest x-ray, which poses risks of cancer. Mammography also compresses your breasts tightly, and often painfully,

which could lead to a lethal spread of cancerous cells, should they exist.

"The premenopausal breast is highly sensitive to radiation, each 1 radiation exposure increasing breast cancer risk by about 1 percent,

with a cumulative 10 percent increased risk for each breast over a decade's screening," points out Dr. Samuel Epstein, one of the top cancer experts.

Dr. Epstein, M.D., professor emeritus of Environmental and Occupational Medicine at the University of Illinois School of Public Health,

and chairman of the Cancer Prevention Coalition, has been speaking out about the risks of mammography since at least 1992.

As for how these misguided mammography guidelines came about, Epstein says:

"They were conscious, chosen, politically expedient acts by a small group of people for the sake of their own power, prestige and financial gain,
resulting in suffering and death for millions of women. They fit the classification of "crimes against humanity.""

Not surprisingly, as often happens when anyone dares speak out against those in power, both the American Cancer Society and NCI called

Dr. Epstein's findings "unethical and invalid."

But this didn't stop others from speaking out as well. In July 1995, The Lancet again wrote about mammograms,

saying "The benefit is marginal, the harm caused is substantial, and the costs incurred are enormous ..."

Dr. Charles B. Simone, a former clinical associate in immunology and pharmacology at the National Cancer Institute,

said, "Mammograms increase the risk for developing breast cancer and raise the risk of spreading or metastasizing an existing growth."

"The high sensitivity of the breast, especially in young women, to radiation-induced cancer was known by 1970.

Nevertheless, the establishment then screened some 300,000 women with Xray dosages so high as to increase breast cancer risk by up to

20 percent in women aged 40 to 50 who were mammogramed annually," wrote Dr. Epstein.

Safe Screening Methods do Exist: The Benefits of Thermography

But you're not likely to hear about them from your general practitioner.
" ... The establishment ignores safe and effective alternatives to mammography, particularly trans illumination with infrared scanning,"

Dr. Epstein points out. Most physicians continue to recommend mammograms for fear of being sued by a woman who develops breast cancer

after which he did not advise her to get one. But I encourage you to think for yourself and consider safer, more effective alternatives to mammograms.

My Rojak strategy

Have not been touching any stock till now, since I last predicted the major correction on the May 7 as I last wrote. Thanks God fingers not burn. But sustainable paper loss of the past was the consequence of not putting a trailing stops and greed for falling in love with some counters really provide me with a hard evidence of another wrong strategy. That sucks me out of the indispensable part of my portfolio.

May and June always are not the months that I liked to park my "vitamin M" in a single basket. I am still being bearish as the clould is very unclear over the economic criss in Europe coupled with the US unstabe economic problem ,the Korean wall and etc; the two powerful, primal emotions - fear and greed - produce huge volatility.

I hate myself to be so cliche..... but bear in mind to be prepared for the next bout of volatility ......... do not donate too much of the tuition fees.....

A tribute to late father

It was five years ago, today’s date; a cortege of more than a hundred mourners attended your funeral. Dad, was your soul able to see us? Or were you able to feel me putting the silver ring on your finger during the wake when we laid you out?

Despite being five years passed, the memory was buried deep within my subconscious; I still remembered vividly that few days before you left us, echoes of sound always stayed in my ears to give you a call. But due to my busy life style with the tuition centre, I just ignored. Only upon that evening, 14th June, 2005, when I reached my home after fetching my boy from school at around 6:30pm, before I wanted to take bath needed to resume going to the tuition centre again, the telephone rang. Apparently I knew it was not the call I wanted to receive. I just made an effort compelling myself to grasp on the telephone. Yes, Daddy, I heard the cry from youngest sister (deep inside me I got such sudden premonition it was regarding U ) that you fell inside the bath room while taking shower with the water still gushing from the tap. The Indonesian maid needed to climb into the bath room to open the door. What a sight? You came naked and went naked! I was then speechless and could not control myself breaking the new to your son in-law and the grandsons. A qualm of pain struck down my spine and in subconscious, my hubby had to hold me and really I needed a good cry. Daddy, why on earth you needed to left us in that manner? I rushed back with the 2nd and youngest brothers at around 10 pm. It was past midnight while reaching home at Wong King Ho Road, Sibu and I was in youngest brother’s car. One of the tyres went burst , and thanks God, He saved us from another bad omen. It was lucky that my hand phone had a flashlight aided to change the spare tyre. God also answered my prayers asking 2nd brother to turn back to look for us.

Daddy, when I reached home, I only saw your cold body in the sitting room. Did your soul saw me talking to you while I knelt beside you seeking forgiveness from you? I was so disobedient when God told me to call home to you and especially every time when I just stopped on the cross junction waiting for the green lights that similar sound echoed in my ears. I regretted that I never brought you to a church due to time constraint despite you once wanted to follow me to church. Now I never got a chance to bring you to our savior and it is my deepest hurt and my mistake. I just wonder where the big Chinese Bible I gave to you was but I only saw the small Bible near to your pillow. I could not sleep for a week and I needed to consult my Pastor whom he requested me to write a long letter to you for him to pray over. Did you read it Daddy? I asked God to reduce your sins on earth to let your soul having lighter judgments wherever you may be now. If only God permits you to come into my dream and let me know why you left us in that manner, I shall be much consoled. I went to the doctor who gave you the two injections two hours before you fell and breathed your last, and found that he should not gave such injections at the same time which was too much for the weak heart especially had not been eaten probably for days. Was it the combination of the Amoxil and the Paracetimol too strong the dose the doctor gave made u fell in the bath room? God gave me a picture it was the cause. No matter why, Daddy rest in peace and give us all the blessings and pray for all my other siblings to come to Lord as one day we all can be together in heaven. I could not do much for they all believed the common myth and misconception that Christianity is only a Western culture and religion. I only can pray for them and I really hope your soul could help in this way which is my very desire and not just I am the weird one to them.

For your info, mum is temporary with eldest brother in our old place just next to Sing Kwong, after the maid left a month ago. Your eldest grandson Rodney is doing well in his study in England and Ah Meh is going there soon. Your young grandson Baby who was an apple in your eyes has grown up in his primary 5 and now a State swimmer. 2nd brother and his family choose to migrate to Australia. You need not worry about them, and may your soul always rest in peace.

Attended two wedding receptions in a week. I wonder Y the singers choose to sing those sad songs which were so wholly inappropriate for such occasion.

Cousin Ah Piew's marriage ceremony

The earliest recorded biblical marriage was first originally ordained by God Himself. The relationship between a man and a woman has been very unique. Eve was created for Adam from one of his ribs while God put him to sleep; to complete his need of companionship.

Today, many of the Chinese cultural rituals are not practical in this modern era. Most family who are not Christian probably will just do the “heaven and earth to witness the marriage” then paying respect to the deceased ancestors.

Last Monday, we drove to Limbang to witness our cousin, King Piew's wedding ceremony which was held in the groom’s house in the morning and the wedding reception in the evening held in the Limbang Civis Centre with the lavish of the glorious food ordered from three restaurants.

Ah Piew’s father who is my husband youngest uncle is a prominent businessman in Limbang, Chairman of the Foochow Association, Head of Limbang SUPP and Chair person for the fund raising for the Chinese School, both Primary and Secondary.

Ah Piew himself being a businessman generously draw another wedding reception held in Kota Kinabalu with the same amount of 70 tables with the garden style reception held in a 5 stars hotel in KK. May God bless the newly wedded couple forever.

Despite that we have not visited Limbang for the last past fifteen years; we easily could use the shorter route to Limbang with better road conditions than any other parts of Sarawak. Though a bit exhausted throughout the journey, we still managed to take a ride round Bandar Seri Bagawan while on the return journey home.

Here is the web link from Bintulu to Limbang road map for all my readers who want to go to Limbang or KK by road. http://www.scribd.com/doc/8308858/Map-From-Bintulu-to-Miri-to-Brunei-to-Limbang-to-Kota-Kinabalu or click to the above captioned link.

A frightening moment

These few days of the continual downpour really make me worried and a qualm of fearful feeling always stay intact. From my neighbor deliberate speech, she told me the monitor lizard ( the four legged reptile which always comes out during the wet season looking for food ) was in my compound a month ago.

I still remembered vividly that 2 days before the 15th day January 2007of the Chinese lunar calendar, while mopping the downstairs floor, I heard a peculiar noise from the kitchen. So I went to search around to see where did the noise come but to no avail. While I continued my chores, that strange noise came just from the piano, an eerie feeling of an invisible intruder might like to play on the piano. A frisson feeling of frightening thought of the monitor lizard which appeared in front of me gave me all the strength my legs could carry to go upstairs to my boys’ rooms for help. Luckily, they were all at home while still in their sweet slumber land. They all thought mummy might be suffering in the bout of insanity. Only then the slithering noise it came from the staircase did they understand why I screamed for help. When Daddy came home for lunch, he tried to search and ended up the thought that it had gone away and no mention of it then.

Just two day that following evening, was the “Chap Goh May” after the dinner out, we were again invited by the neighbor to join them. ( only meant to have wine section with them ) As I went upstairs to my bedroom and straight to the dressing room ( luckily had not taken off my cloth ) I switched on the toilet light which is adjacent to the dressing room, thinking to brush my teeth, that slithering creature came into sight near to the bathtub. One could imagine how I felt at that moment. Really, without hesitation I closed the door of the dressing room before I ran out of the bedroom screaming and speechless when Daddy caught hold of me. Rather a bit so disappointed only to hear him said I was only hallucinated by the reptile. But all the boys were there to support me. We were all set on the battle field and found the reptile hiding behind the luggage’s rack. We all took turn to hit it to our heart content but eeeee…. the bloodstain and the stinking smell from the blood made me vomit.

My neighbor even sarcastically uttered that they would cook me a bowl of the reptile soup when they came to collect it. Already, I have the phobic of it sight and could not sleep for several days, and I wondered how it came into my bedroom. The only thing I observed that the reptile habitual movement always turned right way. Hope the spouse of the reptile that my neighbor deliberately quoted will not come for revenge this round.

Bintulu Town - The New Beach Road

Bintulu, originally a Melanau fishing village has sprung itself into Sarawak main industrial town and a principal deep sea port serving the oil, gas , timber industry and a gateway to many international liners.

It is well planned which is environmentally attractive under the administration of Bintulu Development Authority. With several mammoth multibillion ringgits projects of Federal owned, like the world's largest liquidified natual gas complex, the world's first middle distillate synthesis plant, the urea/ammonia plant, the power stations and the crude oil terminal, Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) as well as an overview of Sarawak's sole deep sea port, the Bintulu port harbour.

If one is a visitor to the town, you can watch all these places just from one location on the hilltop "industrial look out tower" in Tanjung Kidurong. At night, the lighting of the whole area is added fascinating spot which one will not miss. It gives a feeling as though you are watching the landing on an unidentified planet.

With the influx of more foreigners and pool of workers from different resources made Bintulu undergone rapid transformation with world hotels and budgets hotels, restaurants, eatery outlets, supermarkets and mall to it witnessing testaments. The Authority thus has planned 2012 to make Bintulu another City of Sarawak in its history. Hope this will materialize. Property market seems to increase vertically in the last 10 years economic cycle.

For more info click here to read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bintulu

The new Beach Road which is parallel to the old Bintulu road to town has just opened for public use and is only a 30 mins walking distance from the MLNG Housing Area to the Tg. Batu Beach. This is now a hot spot for visitors and another scenic spot for joggers with one side of sea and the golf field on the opposite. At night it is even more facinating view from the strings of illuminating lights on the opposite end of the industrial sectors where one can only get it from the whole of Sarawak.

Rice Dumplings

Last evening, when my friend gave me some of her Cantonese style rice dumplings, it reminded me that the festival 端午节 is just a mere two weeks around the corner.
Reflecting back, look like God knew my weakness and every year HE does assign someone to deliver the rice dumplings for my family.

Each time I wanted to learn how to wrap a dumpling, but without any shape took place. Ashamed to say I even used sand to do experiment and the end result was zero. So each year I just cooked all the required ingredients for the fillings and the soaking of the rice. And the final wrapping was always done by my husband. The best contribution he can make within the kitchen area. In short, I think that why God made each and everyone of us so uniquely.
