My mother used to ask me: "What is the most important part of the body?"



Through the years I would take a guess at what I thought was the correct answer. When I was younger, I thought sound was very important to us as humans, so I said, "My ears, Mommy."



Mother said, "No Many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon."



Several years passed before she asked me again. Since making my first attempt, I had contemplated the correct answer. So this time I told her, "Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes." Mother looked at me and told me, "You are learning fast, but the answer is not correct because there are many people who are blind."



Stumped again, I continued my quest for knowledge. Over the years, Mother asked me a couple more times and always her answer was, "No, but you are getting smarter every year, my child."



Then last year, my grandpa died. Everybody was hurt. Everybody was crying. Even my father cried. I remember that especially because it was only the second time I saw him cry. My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final good-bye to Grandpa.



Mother asked me, "Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear?"



I was shocked when she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game between her and me. Mother saw the confusion on my face and told me, "This question is very important. It shows that you have really lived in your life. For every body part you gave me in the past, I have told you was wrong and I have given you an example why. But today is the day you need to learn this important lesson."



Mother looked down at me as only a mother can. I saw her eyes well up with tears. Mother said, "My dear, the most important body part is your shoulder."



I asked, "Is it because it holds up my head?"



Mother replied, "No, it is because it can hold the head of a friend or a loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometime in life, my dear. I only hope that you have enough love and friends that you will always have a shoulder to cry on when you need it."



Then and there I knew the most important body part is not a selfish one. It is sympathetic to the pain of others. People will forget what you said... People will forget what you did..... But people will NEVER forget how you made them feel.



True or not, the story makes you stop and think. Be blessed. Be a blessing. Get your shoulder ready. I do need a shoulder to lean on when feeling to destress out....hehehe.....

The Prideful 4 friends

This piece of laughter was sent to me by my late friend who passed away last 13 Jan 12, Melbourne. I shall put it in my blog to remember her though I know not composed by her. Here it comes.....

Four friends, who hadn't seen each other in 30 years, reunited at a party.
After several drinks, one of the men had to use the rest room. Those who remained talked about their kids.


The first guy said, "My son is my pride and joy. He started working at a successful company at the
bottom of the barrel. He studied Economics and Business Administration and soon began to climb the
corporate ladder and now he's the president of the company. He became so rich that he gave his best
friend a top of the line Mercedes for his birthday."


The second guy said, "Darn, that's terrific! My son is also my pride and joy. He started working for a big airline, and then went to flight school to become a pilot. Eventually he became a partner in
the company, where he owns the majority of its assets. He's so rich that he gave his best friend a
brand new jet for his birthday."


The third man said: "Well, that's terrific! My son studied in the best universities and became an engineer. Then he started his own construction company and is now a multimillionaire. He also gave
away something very nice and expensive to his best friend for his birthday:
A 30,000 square foot mansion."


The three friends congratulated each other just as the fourth returned from the restroom and asked:
"What are all the congratulations for?" One of the three said: "We were talking about the pride we feel
for the successes of our sons. ...What about your son?"


The fourth man replied: "My son is gay and makes a living dancing as a stripper at a nightclub."

The three friends said: "What a shame...what a disappointment."


The fourth man replied: "No, I'm not ashamed. He's my son and I love him. And he hasn't done too bad either. His birthday was two weeks ago, and he
received a beautiful 30,000 square foot mansion, a brand new jet and a top of the line Mercedes from his three boyfriends.

Despite keeping your weight down, exercising, and following a balanced diet, free of added sugars, junk foods, and simple carbs and u think u might be doing everything right to avoid insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes and in the pink of health and yes a very clean bill each checking but.....

If you're not getting enough sleep, it may not be doing you a bit of good. Myself is good example and every time I did not get enough sleep my blood sugar and BP level sure elelevated to certain level beyond boundarries though I am not in that catagory called a diabetic or HB sufferer. Thanks God tor that.

From my recent health read:

In a recent study, researchers from Leiden University in the Netherlands checked the insulin levels of nine healthy people after eight hours of sleep. In the second phase of the study, the same subjects slept four hours and their insulin levels were checked again.

Results showed that just this ONE night of inadequate sleep reduced insulin sensitivity by as much as 25 percent in some subjects.

In the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, the authors note that insulin sensitivity is apparently not fixed. Even in healthy people, a single night of poor sleep can temporarily knock everything out of whack.

Of course, one night of late-to-bed, early-to-rise won't prompt type 2 diabetes. But it very well could if that turns into a regular sleep pattern.

Last year, a study showed that people who get an average of less then six hours of sleep each night are more than four times more likely to develop blood sugar dysfunction compared to those who average more than six hours per night.

And that may explain the results of another recent study from the UK.

Researchers at the University of Warwick reviewed 16 sleep studies from various countries, including the U.S., Europe, and East Asia. Two results emerged: 1) Habitual lack of sleep increases risk of premature death by more than 10 percent, and 2) Excessive sleep (an average of more than nine hours each night) is also linked with premature death.

The difference: Too little sleep causes poor health, while too much sleep indicates that a serious health issue (such as hypertension) is already underway.

For some people, the fix for too little sleep is simple: Take this warning seriously and force yourself to turn off the TV, say "good night" to everyone a little earlier, and get adequate rest every night.

Remember that insomnia is a monster that's hard to tame.

My best natural sleeping aid is reading a bible or a story book that ease me into slumber land. Because this is the time my focus are on the words I read and not tending to focus on other subjects and my mind relaxed, so easily into slumber land with a deep sleep pattern. Thanks God for such.

The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car:

God is GOOD all the time (don moen) Lyrics

Yup, God is Good all the time. I got everything through especially all the food I brought for my family consumption in Melbourne. Praise the Mighty God for everything and especially answered my prayers..

A sojourner as innocent as I were and despite many times checking through this custom check point, I did not know that when the officer retained my yellow card for food declaration and ordered to walk through Line 4 through 2 doors; I could go straight to the exist point outside the airport. Instead, I turned around and forcing myself into the check point again. Now many custom officers were suspicious on me and taken for interrogatives questions by 3 custom officers. My heart really almost jumped out and thus my BP level elevated. I could only pray to God to calm me down though I was not commiting any criminal offence. All the cctv were on me too. God really did the job and I was then able to answer at ease. My passport was taken for enquiry. The custom officer who took my yellow card was supportive to give
legitimate answers through the phone. Thus my luggage, hand bag, computer and a box of dried food were not disturbed and cos exempted from being confiscated. Acually, I already been queried by 3 officers before the check point about the only dried food that brought in the country. Myself taking thing so innocently and such blissful ignorance really causing the whole damn havoc. Only I realized that I am a Granny visiting my little grandson though I do not look that damn old, do I??
