Back in year 1993, taking a stroll down my memory lane,I still remembered vividly the gynaecologist who delivered my boy on caesarean asked my mum to make ginger juice out of the fresh ginger to eradicate my abdominal pain when injections of painkiller seen to no avail. Though very hot, I took a full tablespoon of the said fresh juice and it just did the wonders. Since then, I like to drink the ginger tea and I used a lot of gingers as ingredient for food flavoring. The volatile oils of the versatile ginger plant are responsible for its active medicinal properties.•For centuries, traditional Chinese medicine has valued ginger as a tonic for digestion.
